Subscription Fatigue

Quick Read TL;DR

Subscriptions are convenient, but too many become financial background noise.

Maybe the smartest subscription you can have is fewer subscriptions.

Mw Subscription Fatigue SquWe used to buy things and own them.

Now, we subscribe.

Netflix. Spotify. Cloud storage. Software. AI tools. VPNs. Apps. News. Fitness. Even features in some cars.

Individually, $9.99 or $19.99 a month doesn't feel like much.

But add them together and suddenly you're paying hundreds, or even thousands, every year for things you barely use.

And AI is making it worse. It is incredibly easy to collect several $20 monthly subscriptions because each tool does something slightly different.

The real problem

It's not subscriptions themselves.

It's subscription creep.

Small recurring payments become invisible because we don't consciously make the purchase every month.

So perhaps it's time for a Subscription Reset.

Once a year, ask:

  • Do I still use it?
  • Would I buy it again today?
  • Is there a cheaper alternative?
  • Can I live without it?

If the answer is no…

Cancel it.

Now that I like you, let me send you updates....

Regular updates. It’s not scary, just means you get to see all before everyone else….
