66 No Matter Which Way You Read It

66. The Shift: CANI

I turned 66 today.

Not a milestone. More like a checkpoint.

All that echoes through my head is a joke punchline, one of those from my childhood.

Thirty-three…

an’ muck aboot wi’ that,

if ye can.

You realise something around this age.

Time doesn’t speed up.
You just stop wasting it.

The things you thought mattered… don’t.

The things you ignored… do.

Work changes too.

You don’t chase money.
You build systems.

You don’t look for approval.
You look for simplicity.

And strangely…

You don’t want more.

You want better.

Less noise.
More signal.

That’s the shift.

Mark
Have a great one….

P.S. If I’m Honest

Most people won’t reinvent. CANI – Constant And Neverending Improvement.

Some can’t.
But most won’t.

Not because it’s impossible.

Because it means letting go.

Of who they were.
Of what they built.
Of the story they’ve been telling themselves for years.

Reinvention sounds exciting…
until it asks for change.

Real change.

And that’s where most people stop.

They stay where it’s familiar.
Even when it no longer fits.

But there’s a quiet truth in all of this—

You can start again.

At any point.

Most just choose not to.

Now that I like you, let me send you updates....

Regular updates. It’s not scary, just means you get to see all before everyone else….
